5 Key Steps for LOCKOUT/ TAGOUT || LOTO Releasing by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration)

These steps are the minimum sequential requirements for the implementation of LOCKOUT/ TAGOUT releasing procedure as per the OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.147

1. 1. Inspect all around of the equipment’s for the machine part fitments & guards are in place.
   2. Verify all employees are in safe position or out of the operational area.
   3. Inspect all controls are in neutral position or restored.
   4. Now removed the al LOCKOUT/ TAGOUT devices for operation.
   5. Inform to all affected employee about the job completion and reenergizes the all sources to make machine or equipment’s are ready to operate.

8 Key Steps of LOCKOUT \ LOTO  \ Control of Hazardous Energy :

These steps are the minimum sequential requirements for the implementation of LOCKOUT procedure as per the OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standard 29 CFR 1910.147

1. 1. Inform to all affected the employee & also prepare for the Shutdown of all energy sources.
   2. Identify all the energy sources by authorized employees, they must know to control all possible source of energy.
   3. Shutdown the machine by the routine stopping process if machine or equipment is in operation.
   4. All require machine or equipment isolate from its energy sources.
   5. Control the isolations with applying LOCKOUT by Individual assigned Lock.
   6. Release all possible stored energy (like that in capacitor, spring, hydraulic system, gas, air, water pressure, grounding, blocking etc.)
   7. Isolation must be verify by the authorized person by operation with regular operating procedure (caution: Before verification first check operating area is unmanned & after verification press in return operation control to neutral of off).
   8. Now equipment’s are   isolated, start the maintenance or servicing activities .
