Kenya Under-20 World Athletics Championships, Shaili Singh, a resident of Jhansi, jumped 6.59 meters in the third attempt and created history by winning silver in the long jump and Swedan Maza won the gold medal. Maza jumped 6.60 meters and won gold in the long jump. Shaili Singh missed the gold by just one cm.
Shaili Singh, who hails from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, is the third player to win a medal in the Under 20 World Championship. Shaili Singh’s age is 17 years. Thus in the Under 20 World Championship, India got a total of 02 silver and 01 bronze medal.
His mother Vinita Singh care her children single-handedly. Shaili Singh’s mother does a sewing job. Her mother was very surprised when her daughter expressed her desire to become an athlete. Then at the age of 14, she shifted to Bangalore for Shaili Singh’s training. Which is now a shining star by inning silver in the long jump.
